My blog post is a day later than normal, because I have been focusing on something for my business this week.
I got sucked into Andy Slamans free Private Label course. He launched 4 different videos about the basics of private label and decided to give them out to everyone to show them the potential in the world of private label.
And I’ll say this: I was impressed.
I can remember the first video interview I did with Andy back in the day. It was one of the first times I was introduced to the world of private label and I have to say that I was pretty skeptical about the whole thing. It seemed to advance for me and I wasn’t really sure I could ever handle the mess that I assume came with each and every item.
So I just went on selling like I have always done…I thought that someday I would get to doing something like that, but not now.
It always set in the back of my head that I would do something in the world of private label, but I never took action on it. I would always come up with an excuse on why it wasn’t a good time to start.
I didn’t have the time
I didn’t know enough about sourcing from China
I didn’t know what kind of item to sell
I didn’t want to get scammed
And I just kept on scanning in stores and buying online.
Until I met Andy in Denver at the Rocky Mountain Reseller Conference.
I was sitting with Andy at the hotel bar and we started chatting about private label. I explained all of my reason for not doing it. Andy started to explain the entire process and got me excited about the possibilities.
We chatted a few other times that weekend and I decided I was going to put the excuses on the shelf (for long term storage) and get my butt into gear.
So I asked Andy if he would like to come and talk Private Label again.
This time, we didn’t want to focus on just the basics. We wanted to get into the information that is truly driving the market and giving the signs that private label might be the way of the future.
If you didn’t catch it, you can see it right here.
And then he announced that he would be doing a 4 week free course over the basics of private label.
Can you say perfect timing?
I just finished them all and I’ll say this:
Even if you aren’t thinking about Private Label now, you need to watch these videos to understand the basics.
It’s never a bad idea to have the knowledge about other areas of Amazon selling. Keep it in your back pocket and always know that it could be an option down the road.
I’m excited to put what I learned into action and I just wanted to take a few minutes to share it with you!
